Bitcoin and Indonesian Rupiah: reading the rate
This DTCC Trading reference explains the relationship between Bitcoin (BTC) and Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Read the asset, currency and direction together: reversing the pair changes which amount is entered and which amount is calculated. A named pair provides a way to study value; it does not establish that DTCC Trading offers an exchange for that pair. Related reading: cryptocurrency. Multiply an amount of BTC by a rate quoted in IDR per BTC to calculate its reference value in IDR. The rate unit matters as much as its value. A rate expressed as BTC per IDR uses the opposite operation. Check input precision and round only the final result. A reference calculation needs a clearly identified data source and observation time. Prices collected from different venues or at different moments need not agree. An unavailable or out-of-date rate cannot establish a current value, and a previous observation should not be presented as a fresh executable offer. The calculated amount and the amount actually received in a transaction answer different questions. A transaction can involve a spread, service charges and network costs. Read each charge in its stated currency and check whether it is included or added separately. This reference does not publish a DTCC fee schedule or promise a final IDR or BTC amount.
